Bradford, June 25, 2024 – It was a day of celebration and triumph as Carlton Academy Trust schools came together for the SkillsHouse Bradford CTE Awards ceremony. The event highlighted the incredible achievements of both students and educators, proving once again that hard work and dedication truly shine brightly.
The ceremony brought together young talents and their mentors, all of whom have excelled in their respective fields. It wasn’t just about the awards but about recognising the journey these young stars and their teachers have embarked on, nurturing essential skills for their future careers.
Students from both Carlton Mills and Marshfield won at the Primary Schools Awards where our young learners demonstrated exceptional capabilities, taking home multiple awards between them. Their commitment to careers-related learning and the development of crucial skills was evident as they were celebrated on stage. Proud parents invited to the event, watched on as students were honoured for their outstanding efforts and achievements collecting awards for Most Career Focussed, Leader and Resolver.
Students from Carlton Bolling and Carlton Keighley also shined at the Awards, where students received the Special Recognition Award for their participation in the St Giles Girls into Construction programme. Plus, students involved in the mock court at Bradford Magistrates Court earlier this year also took home a Special Recognition trophy!
The ceremony wasn’t just about the students. Carlton Mills’ very own Miss Atkinson was awarded the coveted Primary Educator of the Year title. Her dedication and innovative approach in Science and STEM education, not just within the district but on a national level, have set a benchmark for excellence. Her work has inspired countless students and significantly contributed to their educational journey.
Miss Atkinson’s award is a testament to her commitment to fostering a love for STEM among young learners. She has been pivotal in making Science and STEM engaging and accessible, preparing students for a future where these skills are indispensable.
In addition to Miss Atkinson’s victory, Marshfield’s Miss Price was also recognised for her outstanding contributions, reaching the finalist stage for the same award. Her dedication to teaching and inspiring young minds was celebrated, underscoring her role in helping students develop the skills they need for the future.
The CTE Primary Awards are more than just an accolade; they symbolise the recognition of hard work and the fostering of essential life skills among KS1 and KS2 pupils. These awards celebrate the students’ commitment to careers-related learning and highlight the importance of educators in guiding them towards a successful future.
