
We are incredibly proud to share the news that Gill Arnold JP DL, Trustee of Carlton Academy Trust since 2019, has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours for her outstanding services to the administration of justice, to education, and to the community in West Yorkshire.
Based in Bradford, Gill has dedicated her career to championing justice, opportunity and education for young people across the region. She became a magistrate in 2003 and rose to become Chairman of the West Yorkshire Bench in 2021. In 2020, she was also appointed Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire.
Gill is the Founder and Chairman of the Yorkshire Champions Group, an organisation that connects inspirational speakers and thousands of businesses with schools across West Yorkshire. In addition to her work with the Trust and the Champions Group, Gill is also a director and trustee of James ( Joint Activities & Educational Services) Youth Charity for over 17 years.
Reflecting on her MBE, Gill said: “It was such a lovely surprise when I received the letter from the Cabinet Office. I’m absolutely delighted and very humbled to be given such an award. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the fabulous champions who are members of the Yorkshire Champions Group – they are all amazing and very committed to the future and education of the young people in West Yorkshire.”
